With summer in full swing, the conversation starts to switch to people sharing travel plans. Some people spend the whole summer working, relaxing at home or keeping kids busy with summer camps. Others make regular drives to the beach, and some embark on big journeys to new or favorite locations. Are you taking a summer vacation this year? Comment below with where you are going and feel free to share your favorite photograph of your vacation spot.

We'll be taking a few short day (weekend?) trips over the rest of the summer. Our vacation time this year will be spent in mid-October, when we visit our daughter (currently working in Dubai). So while it will be getting towards fall here in Maryland (and the east coast), it will still be summer in Dubai (just not the really hot season).
Family trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Va in May was "great" hahaha.
Costa Rica in June to help chaparone 11 7 & 8 grader spanish class kids for 9 days, was completely Amazing!
Utah in July was a beautiful scenic trip to visit my son. & to top it off... hopefully a trip to Naples, Fl in November to visit my brother (& his family) for his bday.
My all time favorite trip...well there are a quite a few. 2 are definately... 1st Peru & the Macchu Picchu and the Amazon Jungle side trips we added on. 2nd favorite was 3 1/2 weeks in Italy, all over the country.
Going to Columbus and Dayton, Ohio to visit family over a weekend.
1ST stop Our Honeymoon Holy Land Exsperience Orlando,Fl after that were looking at Jamacia.
I enjoyed this one in Colorado.
Planning on taking a week vacation to London for my nephew's wedding at the end of July. Will also squeeze in a day or two (the Monday after the wedding) to ride the Eurostar train to Paris to do some shopping. Very excited because all 8 siblings will be together for the first time in twenty something years.
I enjoyed spending time with friends and family both in Cape May, NJ, and Ocean City, MD. I plan to get back to the beach one more time before the summer is over.
Just returned from our annual trip to Maine. Their state motto is, "Maine, the way life should be".
Leaving tomorrow for Sedona Arizona. Atlanta GA in August, Columbia, SC in November and Orlando, FL in December.
Why Sedona, because we've never been there. There is so much to see right here in the USA. We try to go somewhere every year in the USA where we've never been before. Trying to utilize our timeshare to the fullest.
Also we try to do a long weekend at a B&B (Bed & Breakfast) at least once a quarter, driving no more than 3 hours from home. They are AWESOME!!

Nothing better than a perch in the wilderness with a view!
Anna Maria Island FL Not making it this year but my favorite beach spot. Ocean City MD this year for vacation.
My family spent the week before last in Cacapon State Park in WV (www.cacaponresort.com), one of our favorite places in the world. We rent a cabin for the week, as do two other families with whom we're close friends. The weather wasn't always cooperative, but we were able to enjoy hiking, horseback ridng, swimming at the lake, and just relaxing.
The "standard" cabins in which we stayed were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. They have electricity and running water. Cell phone reception in the park is spotty, so time there is an opportunity to really get "off the grid."
Once a year, my girlfriend and I, along with several folk from our 25+ year high school reunion, have begun embarking on a vacation to a tropical island. For 2014, we journeyed to the Dominican Republic for a 5 day trip (actually, it was only 3 days of frolicking & enjoyment). We took a day cruise to a "private island" via speedboat & catamaran; dune buggying around the locals; and horseback riding. . .and eating a variety of different foods, including delicious Dominican foods. Now we're considering visiting Belize or Turks & Caicos for 2015. This time, I'll invite my grown daughter to come along for the journey.
