I read labels for the amount of sugar and the amount of carbs, that turn into sugar.
Sugar and hidden sugars are in so many foods! I started looking at labels in January and have lost 8 lbs.
I read the ingredients listed. Anything weird, I do not purchase.
I read labels for calorie content, sodium content and less importantly, protein, fat and fiber contents. Everything is important to know but calories and sodium top my list. I suppose this is why whole, unprocessed foods are so much better.
I use labels for nutrition information as well as calorie count but we do want nutrient dense calories. People need more education about nutrient depleters and nutrient dense foods before worrying about calories
