Hawaii will be the first state in the U.S. to raise its legal smoking age to 21. The new measure, which was passed this week and is effective in 2016, is in response to growing concerns about the prevalent use of e-cigarettes among teenagers. Should the legal smoking age be changed in your state? Cast your vote and share your thoughts in today’s poll.

OUR CHILDREN CAN GO TO WAR AND GET KILLED AT 18, SO WHY CAN"T THEY SMOKE OR DRINK? IS IT OK TO DIE FOR THE GOVERNMENT AT 18 , BUT NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO DRINK OR SMOKE
Hopefully raising the age won't mean that it's ok to smoke. How about saying that all smoking of tobacco is illegal (for all ages).
Raising the age is a good idea. My question is, how will this law be enforced and what would be the consequences for the teenagers. In an effort to protect the teens, we don't want to have a record which will damage their future.
Sad, but so many of the under aged kids smoke and have access to smoke anyway!!!
Why are people considering raising the minimum age for tobacco use when people are simultaneously considering legalizing cannabis use (most people smoke it as unfiltered and of dubious quality and identity)? If our society would stop divorcing freedom from responsibility, the issue wouldn't matter. Choose to smoke anything and you assume 100% of the fallout from your choice. We are all responsible for our own choices and teenagers are not the intellectual invalids some people paint them to be.
