Fear of the dark
I have a general fear of heights. I decided several years ago to face my fears. My first attempt was to go up in a hot air balloon near Boulder, Colorado. It didn't help my fear of heights, but it was a great adventure.
Several months later and on a special birthday, I decided to be pushed/jumped/fell out of a plan at 13,000 feet outside of Las Vegas. That too didn't help me to overcome my fear of heights, but it was 9 minutes of extreme excitement!
Was it terrifying?
