want to be a buyer...was a fashion design major. The next venture is fashion merchandising, possible opening an on-line store and a vintage and local designer boutique within the next couple of years. Any advice?
yes... free classes on Cousera.
On-line learning is very enriched with people from all around the world discussing topics that are very interesting. The most interesting aspect of it all is that it incorporates a diverse multicultural population which makes the learning interesting.
This is my 2nd year of on-line learning and I love it.
I am actually starting the first program that I plan on taking completely online next week. It is the MA in Health Communications at JHU, and I must say, I am quite nervous. I have taken many online courses before, particularly in my MBA program, but was also attending courses on campus as well.
Online courses have become much richer over the years - I took one in 2003 and we just used email to communicate. Now, with added functionalities, such as discussion boards, chat features, and resources such as Skype, online courses can behave more like an in-class experience. That being said, it really depends on the other students in the online course, as well as the instructor. If the other students are in it to network and build relationships, it makes it a lot easier. However, if the students are in it because it is a requirement, you may not be able to connect with them as well. Also, it is always helpful to have an instructor who encourages and is involved in the discussions.
Yes, and it all has to do with Epic.
