"You didn't just show me how to breastfeed, you taught me that I could be a mother."
B. Jane Kurtz, RN, IBCLC
"I'm glad we hired your"
The best compliment that I have received in my career at Hopkins so far was just yesterday at the Project Homeless Connect Event downtown. I was working with my second participant for the day, helping them receive services for ID, birth certificate, education, and healthcare coverage. Part of the the event involves filling out an exit interview. One question asked, "What was the best part of the event today?" My participant, with a huge smile on their face, said that I was the best part of their day! We stood in line for two hours for a city ID, they received some on the spot blood work and some information to receive a GED. Even after experiencing acupuncture for the first time and admitting that they almost fell asleep, the best part of their day was me. I was honored to receive this compliment.
"Our doctor and the hospital were just wonderful" was overheard by family members at a funeral for a patient. The patient had been challenging and the family at times difficult. I was surprised. It was a very nice compliment to hear.
My hair. Only compliment I ever got %^O
I was told that I rock in a major way (after working with a patient's parent). The most important thing is that the person who told me actually ROCKS way more than I do! Shout out to the JHH PEDS Child Protection Coordinator Simone Thompson!
One of my favorite compliments is when people tell me I am easy to talk to. I think it is important for our patients to feel comfortable, heard, and understood. I am happy I can help create an environment at Hopkins that allows patients to feel comfortable.
The best compliment I ever received is "your just like your mother" !
I think the best compliment that I receive is from the doctors and nurses in the ED. The tell me that I am a hard working person who is always moving. That tells me that I am doing my job well and that it is noticed and appreciated.
