I have been wearing and using my FitBit Flex since October 2014. I've noticed an increase in my walking (steps) and my water intake. I've set a daily goal of:
10,000 steps
5 miles
2,500 calories
20 active minutes
64 oz of water
treadmill for endurance, stepper for cardio & yoga for tone. Debbie
I use a Sportline 340 Pedometer from Sears.Costs less than $15.
Just records Miles or steps walked.
I enter it into a spreadsheet in the cloud each day.
Work well for me and is very simple.
I can access the file from any of various devices i.e. smart phone, table, laptop and desktop,
I have tried nike fuel band, withings watch , jawbone up band, fitbit . So far my most favorite is fitbit. Nice features, great interface of the app, easily synced to mobile devices and desk top wirelessly, huge community of fitbitters , you can find them by location, or sharing the same disease , or any other group of interest on the Fitbit Activity Boards/forums.
I like the feature of counting my flights of stairs taken daily, and tracking my sleep.
Unlike the jawbone, no need to push the button to bring the band to sleep mode, fitbit recognizes when you are asleep automatically.
Also, fitbit registers every single step , I had problems with withins watch fuel band ( nike) , they register about 85% of all steps taken, not accurate, don't like it.
Wireless features are priceless indeed, and fitbit holds the charge for a week or more.
I love the ability to do daily and weekly challenges with my fitbit friends and motivate each other .
I use a Garmin presently, I used the Fit-bit until it was recalled last year, although I liked the light- up feature of the Fit-Bit, I did not enjoy having to recharge it, as inevitably I would forget to put it back on. With the Garmin, I purchased a vivofit in February and have not taken it off yet. I use it everyday to track my activity and It helps me to keep to the habit of reaching my goal. I also like how it increases your goal steps when your activity is higher. Overall they are both good, and what ever it takes to get you up, moving and motivated is good enough for me.
