Many of the shows mentioned here can now be watched on a local channel (MeTV - Memorable Entertainment TV - channel 11.2 on network television). It's good to watch them once in a while and let the old memories in.
Old shows were the best, back in the day shows had character and taught great lessons even the war shows. Intrigue and suspense are my favorite now back in the day humor and laughter. All of the shows mentioned above were great shows my all time favorite was "Designing Women" and "The Golden Girls"
Lots of great shows already mentioned but I miss Seinfeld and MASH, great shows, probably many more, but I am too old to remember them now!
MASH, Taxi, most of the westerns
Carol Burnett, Family Affair, Courtship of Eddies Father, My 3 Sons, Little Rascals - to name only a few. Wow, I'm really showing my age...
The" Man from UNCLE" ,THE WILD- WILD WEST !
All the Westerns... Like Wyatt Earp, Maverick, Have Gun Will Travel etc...
sanford and son
babylon 5 which im a real scifi guy which really have you thinking.
Wow! So many good ones listed above. Agree w/most, especially Homicide & West Wing, but I also miss Monk and Psych. Miss the old cartoons too, even Fat Albert. They at least taught a lesson at the end (like Davey & Goliath).
My husband and I both like "Lost in Space". Up until a couple of months ago, we could watch old episodes on MeTV but it was dropped from the line up.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Chuck
Designing Women, Golden Girls & Touched by an Angel
BUFFY! Homicide:Life on the Street. The Bernie Mac Show. Too may great sitcoms that were gone too soon: Better Off Ted. Watching Ellie. The Wanda Sykes Show.
West Wing
I realized I also miss the original Black Beauty series off of the BBC that played on the newly minted Nickelodeon channel back in 1981. Episodes aired at 6 AM and I gladly got up to watch them.
Star Trek: The Next Generation although I have to say BBC America is doing a good job showing episodes from time to time. Star Trek episodes were absolutely the highlight of my week 1988-1993.
"RAT PATROL"
West Wing
Happy Endings! Also, Firefly.
I have to agree with all the shows already listed...
Carol Burnett
I don't watch a lot of TV, but "Northern Exposure" was a show that captivated me. It was the first (and maybe only) time I had that feeling, "I've got to get home in time to see the show!"
I love mysteries! I miss "Murder She Wrote" and the "Closer". The other shows I liked and wish they would come back but those 2 were really great!
Laverne and Shirley; The Facts of Life; Nancy Drew Mysteries, there are so many. Those were the good days.
"Cosby", even with all the controversy going on today about Mr. Cosby. It was still a great show. Great family values.
For me, I used to love this show but I cannot say I do anymore. That show seems as if it was a great cover for the double life Mr. Cosby was leading. It's ashame that this is tainted for me now.
Likewise with OJ Simpson movies. He was really good in the Naked Gun movies as a comedic side kick. Definitely not the same after all of his life transgressions.
I love all of the shows mentioned as well even the ones with Mr. Cosby and Mr. Simpson we all have some sort of past that is not all that great. Their past should not diminish the affect of the show because it was not about them it was entertainment. If we dig deep enough we may not ever watch television again with that attitude.
I loved and still love the Cosby's. Its not the man its the character he played that made the show great. Even with the allocations. I still love watching it and what it represented.
MARTIN!!!!!
A Different World. It offered up a positive view of college life and the skills and network building that would be necessary in the adult world. It also exposed the black youth to the possibility of college and what to expect.
MAMA'S FAMILY AND THE CAROL BURNETTE SHOW
good
Kojak, The Mod Squad, Welcome Back Carter, Good Times, Land of the Giants, Mission Impossible, Fat Albert & The Cosby show are just a few. Oh not to mention Dragnet and the old Hawii five O,( the new one is good too).
Quincy, Columbo, Little Rascals, H.R. Puffinstuff,....so many.
Friends! I never get tired of watching it 🙂
agreed! love that show 🙂
How I Met Your Mother
Boston Legal
Sopranos, definitely.
I miss watching the war movies, 'China Beach', 'Baa Baa Black Sheep', all the John Wayne westerns. These give me a glimpse of what our country went through and what price we paid to help others with freedom.
ny favorite tv series I missed the most Perry Mason,Dennis the Menace,Twiilight Zone, Petticoat Junction, The /beverly Hillbillies, Good Times, The Ed Sullivan Show, I Love Lucy,Gun Smoke, Touch by an Angel, Tht just to name few
I remember when. Great shows.
I loved "Bewitch", "Dennis The Menace", "Leave it to Beaver" and "Good Times", just to name a few.
