My first car was a gold Ford Granada.I had it 3 months then my mom decided she liked it. She began driving it and bought me a Red Renualt Allianze. Horrible lemon. lol
My first car was a Regal Buick which had dark brown color on the body with metallic specks of gold in the paint and a tan vinyl top and the best aspect of all was the console in the floor. I would drive with my hand resting on it to give the illusion I was driving a 4 speed race car like Speed Racer!!!
1967 Pontiac LEMANS Fire Engine Red.
The year was 1987, the car was a 1964 Buick Electra 225! Only 45,000 original miles on the engine because the elderly lady who had it only used it to go grocery shopping and to church!
I think i paid the tag & title fee plus like $200 for it! Wish i still had that thing!
1971 orange VW Beetle. Manual transmission, manual steering, no AC. Heat all year round. My parents said they could hear my rubber band engine when I came down the street.
An orange and black Opel Kadett Rallye. 1973 Oil embargo. thought a small car would give better gas mileage back then. I was wrong. 2 weeks into owning my "new" used car, the big things started to break. So much for a 17 YO boy's dreams. Although, I, along with many of my friends, learned to drive a stick on that poor car's transmission!
A powder blue 1966 Ford Falcon, bought in 1976 for $600. No radio!!! It took me all through college even though the floorboards rusted through and you could see the road through the floor on the passenger's side. By the time I gave it up, only one bolt was holding the front bench seat in...everytime I hit the gas the seat would flip back a little bit because the remaining bolt was in the back lol. Deathtrap!
I had a silver 1984 Audi 80 and it was both pretty and terrific. It was a great car and took me on several youthful and risky adventures. I sold it as near-scrap at last when it developed intractable transmission problems.
Also for my mustang I only paid $5,000
1975 pale blue mustang - awesome car
It was a brand spanking new White Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS396 with black leather seats and the best am radio money could buy. She was a peach and I have never had a car since that gave me the same feeling that car did.
I has an orange Ford Pinto with black interior. The passenger's seat was broken but my dad went to the junk yard and found a RED seat. Every time I stepped on the gas, I would leave behind a big cloud of smoke but it got me back and forth to college. I was sad when it finally died.
Burgundy 95 jeep laredo(box shaped )
robins egg blue volkswagon karmann ghia. I think you could see through the floorboard a little.
1980 Dodge Colt. I will never forget that car. Every day on the way home from my first job I had to tackle this big hill. If I didn't get enough momentum going up the hill the car would stall and then shut-off. The unfortunate thing is that there was a stop sign at the bottom of the hill. Needless to say, I ran that stop sign everyday!!!....lol
Chevy Greenbriar Van. "Unsafe at any speed." The closest thing I could come to a Hippie Van.
It was a new, brown, 1978 Toyota Corolla stick shift. I paid $4,000 cash for it and it served me and my kids well until 1994.
i started driving in 1982 my mom gave me her 1975 dodge dart.
A 1964 Ford Falcon station wagon, bright yellow, 4 cylinders with a two-speed automatic transmission that slipped horribly (try getting it to go up a mountain to Ski Roundtop in PA). It was a special car because my older sister (by 13 years) sold it to me for $1 after hauling it around the world as a Navy wife. So the car had a lot of history... and a lot of rust from living in Hawaii and Japan, including holes through the floor so big you could see the road going by underneath (I always thought that would be convenient for dropping smoke bombs at pursuers if I ever got into a car chase, James Bond-style). I worked in a gas station so spent a lot of time fixing it up there while I was bored - bolted down the back seat and laid down shag carpet, sprayed silver paint on the rear windows and put vinyl wallpaper on the insides, installed a quadrophonic 8-track tape player - yeah man! Since it had basically no value and was built like a tank (so nearly impossible to dent), I let my friends drive it whenever they wanted, so I'd often be sitting in a second-floor classroom at Severn School and there goes my yellow Falcon driving down the street... It was an exquisitely unreliable car and eventually the engine self-destructed so I had it towed off for scrap (with some satisfaction I imagined it subsequently pressed into a square metal cube). My next car was a used 1972 Ford Pinto so I guess I was a slow learner when it came to car choices.
a red/white 1961 Plymouth Valiant, 3 speed column shift wh
My first car was a 1978 Pontiac Firebird, Black with an orange eagle on the hood of the car. I named it "midnight". It was the talk of the block. I loved it!
My first car was a Subaru legacy that I purchased for $500. from my supervisor at the time. I loved this car despite it's limitations - no AC. At the time I got this car it was a God send because I remember the many days standing at the bus stop in the snow, waiting for the MTA bus to get to school and the bus would not show. To this day despite the fancy upgrade, my older son thinks that it was the best car we had. It's the simple things that matter.
1963 Plymouth. I took Duct Tape and made a set of racing striped from front to back.
My first car was a 1989 Pontiac Bonneville that was a loaner from my parents that I drove during high school and through college as a commuter student until the fuel line rusted out to the point of leakage...the repair and other looming repairs would have been more costly than the value of the car and it was time for a change. I then purchased a well-used 1997 Chrysler Sebring Convertible with my own money while in college.
A 1972 yellow AMC Gremlin!
My first car was a dark green 1976 Datsun B-210 Hatchback! I purchased it in 1982 a year after I started working at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. As soon as I was eligible to join and get a loan from the Johns Hopkins Credit Union, I purchased this car for $1,000. The car had beige leather seats and it was in excellent condition. My brother detailed my car for me and the paint looked amazing (like glass) at night. My dad, brothers, and I used to get up early on Saturday mornings and we would wash our cars together. I loved the quality time I spent with them and I also learned a lot about cars from them, too!
My first car was a 1988 red dodge hatchback colt. I loved that car, it was great on gas! Also you weren't required to wear seatbelts so I would pile up my nieces and nephews in the car and would take them roller skating, they love it too! Those were the days! Although it was far from my dream car which was a StingRay AKA Corvette - way too fast for me now! Thanks for reading!
My first car was a 1959 Black 4 door Ford Fairlane. I wanted the new mustang or the coguar. I took my drivers education in my Ford. People watched as I parrelled park. They could not believe I did since we had an ice storm that day. It did take me a while to get my spitfire sport car at that time I wanted the TR-6. I loved my spitfire had the best time in it. The 1970's was the best time of my life. Such memories.
1989 Toyota Camry
A four door 1970 Chevy Impala. One of the original land yachts, back when everything had an 8 cylinder engine.
A black 1997 Toyota Corolla. I loved that car 6 disc changer, air conditioner! It ran like a dream đŸ™‚
It was a green AMC Gremlin. It caught fire twice, the driver's side door came loose (so that I could only get in by the passenger door), had a muffler that could wake the next county, and finally the front axle broke. But I learned a lot about cars with that one!
I had a Corvair. when I pulled into the gas station I would say, (yes, this is when there were gas attendants) "fill it with gas...and oil." adding oil was as frequent as filling with gas. Cute car, but 'unsafe at any speed' soon became the mantra and it was time to get rid of it.
Please add the car died, I ran it until it would no longer goe.
1966 Chevy Impala with bucket seats.
My first car was a 1979 Red Ford Pinto. It had both an AM/FM radio and a cassette tape player. Back then you were lucky if you had a FM radio. It was special because I paid for it myself. My parents did not help me get it.
My first car was a 1989 Pontiac Lemans, I hated that car, it was a lemon. It was more in the shop then on the road. I've had pretty good ones after that đŸ™‚
I will always remember my first car, I purchased from my Uncle. I paid $75.00 for it with my money. I was working and still in school. The car was a white corvair 4 door. I do not remember the year. I know they had stopped making those cars. It was great on gas. I loved that little car.
My dear Uncle is no longer with us.... and I have not had an Uncle like him. It's still a good memory because when he needed me I was there for him in the end.
A beautiful grey and black two-tone Toyota Corolla that my brother drove and crashed a month after I bought it.
1968 volkswagon van...passed down to my brother and sisters and finally me!
First automobile was Plymoth Valient.
My first car was a 1976 dark blue Camaro. I nicknamed it "Blue lightening". It had great pickup and exceleration. I was sorry to have to turn it in after 12 years.
My 1977 Chevette was a wonderful car! It got me to and from college in Binghamton, NY and freed me from Greyhound. It lasted forever-- my husband even ended up driving it in the late 80's until it finally gave up the ghost.
My first car when I turned 16, I bought with my accrued savings bonds and cost me $200. It was the summer of 1992 and I bought a very used 77 Buick Skylark, powder blue. That was a tank. I remember driving it until the floor undeneath the driver's pedals rusted away.
My very first vehicle was a 1985 Ford escort it was marroon i love that car put alot of miles on it before i had to say goodbye . Those were the days
My first vehicle was a Geo Prizm.
My first car was a green, 1973 Ford Pinto.
I had a Ford Pinto, also. It was a 1978 and my brother painted it bright orange. It looked like a pumpkin, so my nickname became Cinderella for my senior year of college. I had to add oil every 500 miles and use a hair dryer to warm it up in the winter so that it would start (running extension cords from my apartment window to the street). Cinderella was probably a good nickname because of all of the work I had to do with that car.
I had to add oil to my Pinto also. It was a 1979. Must have been some clinch in the make of it.
