Judas Priest & Iron Maiden, I'm old! ; )
It was 1971. Bobby Sherman at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
I was surprised by Lori's post, as my first concert was also Emerson, Lake & Palmer at Cole Field House at College Park in 1977. My dad was a huge fan and was a professor there and heard on the radio that tickets were on sale as he was driving into work. I also remember the sights, sounds and smells...
My first concert was Rick James and Teena Marie....Old Capital Centre...
Graham Central Station at the Balitmore Civic Center.
The Baltimore Symphony used to give free open-air concerts at the Baltimore Washington Monument each summer. My sister took me to a few of these when I was very young. It gave me an appreciation for classical music and orchestra. I was so impressed, I took violin lessons for a few years when I was young (but I wasn't very good at it, and so didn't enjoy it, so I quit - now I'm wishing I would have had more encouragement to continue).
Joe Walsh with Barnstorm
Right after high school my best friend and I attended our first Jimmy Buffett concert at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD. I'll NEVER forget all the sights, smells and sounds!! I remember it rained pretty badly the day before, or the day of the concert and I distinctly remember being COVERED in mud from head to toe- and not caring one bit because we were having so much fun singing along!
Elton John at the Civic Center in 1980. I cried at the first song and there was no turning back. I've been a huge fan since then and the next time I see him will be my 60th.
I think it was 1981....I saw the Rolling Stones at the Capital Center. Awesome show. The next day I found out that someone was shot in the parking lot and that freaked me out!!
My first concert was the Purple Rain concert at the then "Capital Center".
My first concert was in Barbados to see Lionel Richie
The Beach Boys and The Maharishi at the Civic Center. First of hundreds. Sure wish i'd known about hearing protection a few decades ago.
Sir Paul McCartney & WINGS at Capital Center.
Sat right next to stage next grand piano where Sir Paul played a few Beatles solos!
So cool!
My first concert was The Village People at the Civic Center, it was packed and everybody was standing the whole time dancing. I was about 17 and thought it was really cool.
1969 - Baltimore Civic Center - was there to see Vanilla Fudge. But they had this unknown British band opening for them......by the name of Led Zeppelin!!!!
David Bowie at the Capital Center
The first one I remember was seeing Arlo Guthrie with my parents at an outdoor show when I must have been 3 or 4 years old. I remember Dad spinning me around on his shoulders until I threw up. Good times! I've gone to many, many shows since then, and I've managed to keep dinner through all of them.
A Micheal Jackson Pepsi Tour in Washington DC
Paul Simon at NY's Madison Square Garden. Unless you count Shlomo Carlbach the Singing Rabbi several years earlier.
Shlomo Carlbach totally counts.
Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense Tour, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio - October 8, 1983
David Byrne's big white suit was awesome!
My first concert was the Tall, Talented, Temptin Tempations at the University of Maryland's Cole Field House. All of the original members were alive at that time and it was a fantastic concert!!
OMG!!!! My first live concert was the JACKSON FIVE held at the Colefield House at Maryland University. It was also the first time as a child I saw rain coming down in a small area ahead of us, running into it, and existing right out of it wihtnin seconds. Looking back at it and seeing it was a spectacular event! Two spectular events in one-day... what more could a child ask for!!!!
P.S. - I thought Jermaine Jackson was in love with me. LOL
Elvis Presley- Capital Center 1977 - nosebleed section- didnt get to see a whole lot - but i was there!!
Janet Jackson World Tour at Merriweather Post Pavilion 1993.
The year was 1968.... the venue was Heidelberg College in Tiffin, OH... and Stevie Wonder was the artist! As a freshman in high school, I thought it was the coolest thing I had done to that point in my life! 🙂

I was 12 years old when I went to the York Fair to see Rick Springfield!!!! It was so awesome!
My first concert was Richard Marx at the Miami Metro Zoo (they held outdoor concerts there). It was probably 1988. I went with a friend - without our parents. It was exciting to be on our own.
Marvin Gaye and Jan Bradley at the Royal Theater on Pennsylvania Avenue. I think I was about 12 or 13 years of age. Of course I had to go to the Matinee.
If you are familiar with the incredible Indiana State Fair which has always had the biggest and best bands in the USA playing (as listed on the website: Indiana State Fair Rocks), I attended many fun concerts there. I don't recall the "first" but I know they included the Jackson 5, Kool and the Gang, Beach Boys, and (unfortunately) Motley Crue. haha. Always a blast at the Indiana State Fair!!!!! :))
I was to young to remember my first concert, mom said she took me and my older sister to see the Partriage Family.

My first concert was the Beatles at what was then the Civic Center in downtown Baltimore. My kids were very impressed by that. The screaming was so loud and out of control you couldn't hear them.
